UnholyKnight.com Relaunches for ’09

My last trace of activity here was in April. What happened? The biggest thing was that my PC quit on me completely. No matter of working on the thing would get it working reliably so I switched my workstation completely over to my MacBook Pro. Packed on top of that was the fall ’08 semester, bringing with it the biggest workload yet as well as a new job.

Maybe those are just my own excuses for not being active. I got worn out as well and needed some time without blogging so I could get excited about it again. Any time blogging becomes a chore I don’t feel as strongly about it. After eight months I’ve jumped back into the community and have been just excited as three years ago when I first started video blogging. So in preparation for 2009, I’m back to work.

You probably noticed that you landed straight on the blog. I ditched the front page. It was a great project in integrating multiple social platforms two years ago, but going back to a single wordpress install will relieve some strain on my part. Back to basics; all video and text posts will be posted in this single space. I saw the theme I am using now, in its original state, being used on Eric Rice’s blog. I love the fact that it uses large billboard images in place of full text posts (or part of the entire post). I took the original theme, ran with it, and reorganized and reskined it to my liking.

Video won’t jump start again for a little while, but I have a schedule for two or three posts a week as well as reposts of old, notable video posts or videos that people have been requesting to be put back online. The upcoming semester is a lighter load and I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays along with work thrown in there four days a week. I am most likely going to use blip.tv’s video player to post video to make the entire process easier on myself.

With an eight month down time I’m unsure about how many people bother to stop by the site anymore, but either way I’m starting fresh. Check back weekly for my own thoughts on new technology, gaming, music, and my own life. Are you still out there and paying attention?
