I haven’t had a pair of Nike’s in probably over ten years. Why did I ever stop paying attention to Nike anyway? These are now the most comfortable shoes I own, Nike has my attention once more.

Unkommon Kolor was at City Tavern for the Sore Losers / Fizzy Dino Pop show last Friday to document it in photos. I gracefully stole some from their blog to post here, but be sure to check out Unkommon Kolor and the rest of the night’s pictures at Unkommon Kolor’s blog.

Ever heard of that blog Unkommon Kolor? Well you’re on it! Take 3.

What’s going on this weekend? That ol’ boy Yeahdef (yeah, he’s 25 now) has arranged for a Texas vs Oklahoma DJ battle to take place at Hailey’s in Denton this Friday night. Get your weekend started off on the right foot with this 3v3 battle. Where else in the metroplex are you going to get six DJs for just $2? Nowhere. Not only that, but Denton drinks are cheap and after the City Tavern show I will never take Denton alcohol for granted again. Pour me a Dos Equis!

Bonus Barrel! I know I already used that joke, but can you really hit the bonus barrel too many times? Got a tip on a free download called Jukebox Wizard by Doc Delay & DJ B. Cause. It’s an artfully crafted array of mashups that includes something for everyone. In my case I enjoyed the entire album and picking just one song to let you preview was a challenge. Check out what I settled on below, Midas Train Running. I can’t spoil the rest, so if you’re interested then download the album while you can, you know how flaky these download services can be.

KillaMC [MySpace] – I found KillaMC while surfing around the Twitter for new music. I stopped by his MySpace and liked his music so I asked him for the track below to post here on the blog. Big thanks to KillaMC for sending me this track late last night! Give it a listen, I love the old school vibe. Not only is it quality, but it’s local. Keep support for the local music scene up, DFW has a lot going on and I’m digging more quality work up every day. Get more KillaMC by checking out his website and by following him on twitter.

During the Sore Losers / Fizzy Dino Pop at City Tavern on Friday Sore Losers did a live version of the Fizzy Dino Pop remix of Bizarre Celebrations. I thought I had posted this song before, but it turns out I hadn’t. Skip listening to it and just download it, you’re going to want it. The song was even recognized by the Dallas Observer and was named the number 4 song from the DFW area for 2009.

Earlier today Diplo and Mad Decent put out the Free Gucci mixtape for free. I’ve got a track below to preview, but to grab the whole album you’ll have to go on over to Mad Decent’s website and sign up for the mailing list to get your download.
