End of October Comic Reading

Runaways: Live Fast, Shinji Ikari Raising Project 6, Terminator 1984 #2

Runaways: Live Fast – I’m late to the Runaways party, but I’m catching up quickly. I’m still in the Vaughn era of Runaways and they’re fantastic. It doesn’t even feel like Runaways is a Marvel comic and that’s a good thing. Bad thing? A few days ago Marvel announced that the Runaways movie was put on the back burner; I hope that they revive the project in the future. I’d much rather see a Runaways movie than another Iron Man movie.

Shinji Ikari Raising Project 6 – Almost two months after its original release date, #6 is finally available today. Similar to Angelic Days, The Shinji Ikari Raising Project follows an alternate Eva story line as referenced in the end of the original TV series. Better than the original series itself? No. Welcome lighthearted approach to the Evangelion universe and its characters? Yes.

The Terminator 1984 2 of 3 – Zack Whedon and Andy MacDonald take the Terminator franchise back to the first movie and the year 1984. More of a new story intertwined with the original Terminator as opposed to an attempt at recreating the franchise’s history, Terminator 1984 isn’t the best thing I’m currently reading, but who can resist The Terminator? It’s worth the few bucks for what it is.
