SXSW this year was as fun as ever with no shortage of free food, free entertainment, and free alcohol to be found down every alley and on every street corner in downtown Austin. What I didn’t expect to see was Guile in town at Icenhauer’s, apparently for the Calyp Casa Friday Showcase. We arrived a little later in the evening so I assume the Sonic Boom and Flash Kick exhibitions had ended for the night. We didn’t want to anger him by asking to take pictures with him or asking for his autograph so we opted for the next best thing.
I’m on my phone, or maybe my Game Boy, in the foreground. Guile is laid back enjoying himself in the background.
A small clip from Johannes Nyholm’s upcoming short film “Las Palmas.” There isn’t much information available other than what you see in the trailer and a few pictures on Johannes’s Facebook page, but this clip shows a lot of promise.
Hilarious idea, ready for the full film to be released.
I ventured out to Northpark Center this weekend as it was the only movie theater in the entire DFW area screening Catfish. The movie looked interesting enough, but it turned out to be a lot different and better than I had imagined. Aside from that, Catfish is one of the very few movies I’ve seen where the audience had audible reactions throughout the entire movie (minus a midnight screening). If you’re thinking about seeing this movie and have a theater in your are that’s screening it, go!
I’ll be fairly active on the blog over the next few weeks and until our next correspondence, stay thirsty, my friends.
Remember almost a year ago when I went to Japan? I took some video while I was there, but I forgot about the footage for a while… just like I forgot to take my camera out for the ride during the days following day 2 of Tokyo. Either way, enjoy this salvageable mashup of a little over two minutes. This might be my best work to date.
